Carrboro will once again become one big stage when the 29th Annual Carrboro Music Festival takes over the community on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The free annual celebration brings music, artists and community together throughout Carrboro.

As he looks toward retirement, Chief Atack plans to spend more time with his family, including his wife, Tina, and their two children, ages 20 and 16. He also plans to continue teaching BLET, pursue nature photography, travel and spend more time reading.
Carrboro Wins National Marketing Award for Chapel Hill Transit Bus Wrap
The award was presented at the 3CMA annual conference in Denver, held Sept. 7-9, for Carrboro’s project Carrboro: A Rolling Invitation to Belong, a Chapel Hill Transit bus wrap featuring images from the town’s festivals and community events.
