On Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Great Allegany Run and 5K, sponsored by Queen City Striders and Allegany County Habitat for Humanity, will take place in Cumberland.
Temporary Closure of I-68 Eastbound On-Ramp at Exit 42 for Water Line Repair
The City of Cumberland Public Works Department advises motorists that the I-68 eastbound on-ramp at Exit 42 from northbound U.S. Route 220 will be temporarily closed to all traffic while city crews perform a water line repair.

Downtown Milling and Paving Scheduled to Begin September 28
The City of Cumberland will perform milling and paving on Pershing Street and Union Street from Mechanic to S. George Street, including a portion of S. Liberty Street. The work will begin Monday, September 28 and continue through Friday, October 2.
