Maritime experts travel to Nantucket to investigate shipwreck remains exposed by nor’easter
The remains surfaced near an area where pieces believed to belong to the Warren Sawyer, a schooner wrecked in 1884 while carrying cotton and scrap iron from New Orleans to Boston, have previously emerged and been reburied by shifting sands.

Amelia Drive One-way Traffic Flow Piloting
In the morning of October 5, 2026, the Town of Nantucket will begin piloting the conversion of Amelia Drive between Waitt Drive and Ticcoma Way from a two-way traffic flow to a one-way traffic flow southwest towards Ticcoma Way for a three-month period.
