About The Bronx

The Bronx is the northernmost of New York City's five boroughs and the only one on the mainland of the United States; it is coextensive with Bronx County. Separated from Manhattan by the Harlem River, it is home to Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden, and roughly a quarter of its area is parkland or open space, including Pelham Bay Park, the city's largest park. Its neighborhoods range from the Grand Concourse and the South Bronx, where hip hop originated in the 1970s, to Riverdale, City Island and the Italian restaurants of Arthur Avenue.
