Ryan Family Film Series Double Feature: Purple Rain & Labyrinth

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the deaths of Prince and David Bowie, legendary cultural icons who achieved critical and commercial success with works that often challenged and reimagined traditional notions of identity and stardom.

Purple Rain stars Prince as a Minneapolis musician navigating romance and rivalry, and the film endures as a defining ’80s cultural phenomenon that earned an Academy Award for best film score.

The cult classic Labyrinth, directed by Jim Henson (the creator of the Muppets) and featuring several of his puppet creations, follows teenager Sarah through a fantastical maze to save her brother from Bowie’s Goblin King.

Come for one or both of the films.

There will be free concessions and a 15-minute intermission between the films.
