About this event
Plan to stay for the full hour if attending. Colgate’s Statement on Academic Freedom and Freedom of Expression encourages everyone to express their ideas in conversation, both inside and outside the classroom. Such expression requires courage: saying what you think can be difficult, especially in cases where your view is unpopular. It also requires care: we must consider the perspectives of others, listen carefully, and be willing to change our minds. In this session, professors David Dudrick and Jenna Reinbold will lead a discussion of freedom of expression and its central role in the Colgate experience.
