City of Gulfport Invites Community to Lace Up for the Gulfport 5K and Fun Run The City of Gulfport invites runners, walkers, families, and fitness enthusiasts to participate in the City of Gulfport 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 3, 2026 , beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Historic Gulfport Casino Ballroom . A 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk will follow at 8:20 a.m. , providing an additional opportunity for participants of all ages and abilities to take part in the morning's activities. This family-friendly event offers participants an opportunity to experience Gulfport's waterfront while enjoying a scenic 3.1-mile course through the City's coastal neighborhoods and downtown district. Whether competing for a personal best or simply enjoying an active morning outdoors, the Gulfport 5K promotes community wellness, local pride, and Gulfport's unique waterfront character. Following the race, participants are encouraged to explore Downtown Gulfport's locally owned restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and shops and enjoy the remainder of the morning along Boca Ciega Bay. 5K Registration Registration for the 5K Run/Walk is $17 per participant and will remain open through Wednesday, September 30, at 4:30 p.m. Participants who register by September 23 are guaranteed an official event T-shirt. 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk The 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk begins at 8:20 a.m. and provides a shorter, family-friendly option for participants of all ages and abilities. Participation in the 1-mile event is free, and strollers are welcome. Support Operation Santa - Not running? You can still support the cause. Proceeds and donations benefit the Gulfport Police Department's Operation Santa , which helps provide holiday gifts for local children ages 0 to 10. The City is working toward a $5,000 fundraising goal , and every contribution helps make the holiday season brighter for Gulfport families.
