Richmond Fire Suspect Charged with Four Counts of Murder
Martinez, California – The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office filed an amended complaint on August 24th against a Richmond man accused of setting a house fire that killed four family members.

Vasco Road Corridor Safety Improvement Study Report
Public Works has completed a corridor safety and improvements study on the portion of Vasco Rd located between Marsh Creek Rd and the County line. We are requesting the public review the final draft of the report and provide feedback by Tuesday, 9/15/26.

Countywide Guardrail Upgrades Phase II Project
Public Works will begin construction of the Countywide Guardrail Upgrades Phase II project on Mon., 8/24 - Tues., 11/17/26, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Mon.-Fri., in various locations throughout the county. Expect delays up to 10 minutes through work zones.

Traffic Signal Activation at Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd & Diablo Rd
Public Works has completed the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Mt. Diablo Scenic Boulevard and Diablo Road/Blackhawk Road. The traffic signal was activated and in full operation on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

(Updated) Blackhawk Road Pavement Repair Work
Public Works will perform pavement repair work on Blackhawk Rd, between Magee Ranch Rd and east of Oakridge Ln, on Mon., 8/31 - Thur., 9/17/26, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Mon. - Thur. Expect up to 15 minute delays due to traffic control/lane closures.
